Monet painted the view from Nadar's studio, where the first Impressionist exhibition would later be held. The crowd on the pavement is reduced to a few dozen quick dabs of dark paint, and from close up the picture almost dissolves.
Part of the artist's studio until the 1890s; later in American collections before entering the Nelson-Atkins in 1972.
Reproduction print on cotton canvas. Not an original artwork, not a limited edition, and not signed. Colours may differ slightly from your screen.
